Annual Day Celebrations 2019-20

37th ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS AT VPM’S B R TOL ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL 18.12.2019

The annual day of VPM’s B R TOL, which was held on 18th December 2019 in the School auditorium, was celebrated with great gusto and enthusiasm.  The theme of the day’s celebration was Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj  –  The Great Maratha Warrior King.  The programme began on a divine note with a soul stirring prayer by the students of the school followed by the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the esteemed guests.

The chief guest for this eventful programme was Dr. Ajit Kumar, Principal of VPM’s R Z Shah College OF Arts, Science & Commerce.  The dias was adorned with esteemed dignitaries of the management as well.  The honour of giving away the prizes was done by the Chief Guest Dr. Ajit Kumar, the President Dr. P M Kamath, Hon Gen Secretary   Shri Pramod Mulgund, Hon Secretary Shri B H Katti, Hon Dy Treasurer Shri N M Gudi, Adv. Vijay Kulkarni, Hon. Jt. Secreary and the Principal of the School Dr Sainath P. Shenoy.   Miss Pranita Rao broght laurels to the school in the AISSE Std. X Board Exam 2018-19, by standing 3rd place in Maharashtra.  She won 24 endowment prizes in all out of 49 endowment prizes.  The prestigious ‘ THE BEST STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2019-20 was bagged by Master Darshan Dubey of std.  IX B.

The school wore a festive look depicting our proud state of Maharashtra with students dressed up as Bal Shivaji, Bal Mavlas, Maratha warriors, Jijamata, Goddess Bhavani and so on.  The important episodes of Chatrapati  Shivaji Maharaj’s life was excellently portrayed by the students of the school.  This tableau ended with Chatrapati  Shivaji Maharaja’s Rajya Abhishek. The  entire choreography, the hall and the stage settings, the huge fort setting at the entrance was done by Mr Abhijit Desai, our School choreographer and his team.

After the thematic performance a soul rousing skating dance was put up showing the surgical strike at Uri, choreographed by Mr. Dharmendra More (Skating coach) and his team.

In keeping up with the CBSE norms, novel ideas and activities, models, as a part of Internals are prepared by the students.  The students were asked to prepare the different forts of Maharashtra.  The students displayed their forts in front of the adorned setting and they were judged.  Std. 6B bagged the I prize, Std. 6A, the II Prize and Std. VII B, the III Prize.  The history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was recreated to bring out the true spirit of the proud Marathas.

This power packed performance came to an end with the national song and the crowd dispersed on an elated and gratifying note.
